My mother-in-law loved to treat her grandkids to sweets and once she discovered which ones they liked she would never miss an opportunity. For Arisa and Devina it was wine gums.

As a parent, I asked her to think of their teeth, their sugar levels, etc. That was her thing though, and she couldn't resist sending wholesale quantities of wine gums in oversized clear plastic food bags from Ikea.

I would sometimes hide them from my daughers on arrival, which I now feel guilty about. Sorry Mum.

Your big heart, generous spirit and over-the-top quantities of wine gums will be missed.
